TB experiment: all done
After about a week, today I switched back to Apple’s Mail. I miss SpamSieve too much, and the address book thing, too, is getting on my nerves.
TB has a lot of promise, and I look forward to seeing changes coming in the future!

Thanks for documenting your experience — it’s been interesting to read. I didn’t recognise many of the problems you mentioned (except as contributors to the ‘death by a thousand cuts’ thing), but a few hit home: the Address Book integration would certainly be nice. I’m a Windows user (yeah, yeah) and am wondering whether OS integration is going to become a bigger issue for Thunderbird when Vista arrives, particularly with both searching and the address book becoming shell-integrated features at last.

Yes, thanks for documenting your experiences. I find Thunderbird takes care of my modest needs rather well. But I’m sad to say, in my opinion, I don’t think any major change is going to happen in Thunderbird until Mozilla puts some of that money from the pot, into employing some more manpower.
How can they expect to compete, the Calendar and Thunderbird teams do such a good job. But they need more help.
