Note: I know it’s not Wednesday, but I was sick for a couple of days, so this is the soonest I was up to handling this. Sorry!

Here are today’s Wiki Wednesday articles! If you know about these topics, please try to find a few minutes to look over these articles that are marked as needing technical intervention and see if you can fix them up. You can do so either by logging into the wiki and editing the articles directly, or by emailing your notes, sample code, or feedback to mdnwiki@mozilla.org.

In order to help streamline the documentation process for Firefox on the release train model, we’ve assigned a writer to be the driver for the developer documentation of each release on the train. We now have enough full-time writers to do this.

So I’ll be the driver for Firefox 9 (and then Firefox 12, 15, etc). You can reach me by email at eshepherd@mozilla.com, on Twitter at @sheppy, or in IRC as sheppy.

Jean-Yves Perrier, who joined Mozilla last week, will be the driver for Firefox 10 (then 13, 16, etc). You can reach Jean-Yves by email at teoli@mozilla.com, on Twitter at @Teoli2003, or in IRC as teoli.

Janet Swisher will be the driver for Firefox 11 (then 14, 17, etc). You can reach Janet by email at jswisher@mozilla.com, on Twitter at @jmswisher, or in IRC as jms.

We’ll be maintaining a list of documentation drivers on the Mozilla wiki as well.

I live less than 30 minutes away from the Knoxville Zoo, which is home to one of the pre-eminent red panda breeding programs in the world. Today, finally, I took my daughter to see the new red panda pavilion that hadn’t been finished yet last time we were there. It’s a beautiful facility, and you can get a first-class, front-row look at the same little beauties that the Firefox Live live stream shows.

This one little guy was fascinated with Sophie. He followed her as she moved back and forth in front of the window.

Then you had these other cuties:

I have more pictures and some video as well, but this was the best stuff. How can you not love creatures this precious?

Today, Jean-Yves Perrier joins Mozilla as our third on-staff technical writer. He’s been contributing to our documentation for quite a while now, but now will be doing it full-time. Working from his home in Switzerland, he’ll be continuing to work on docs for CSS, HTML, and other open web topics, as well as occasionally dipping into add-on related material.

You’ll find Jean-Yves on IRC as teoli, and you can follow him on Twitter as @Teoli2003.

I’m excited to expand the writing team, and hopefully the addition of another full-time writer will help us keep up with the exciting and rapid development of Firefox!
