Perfect example of David Baron's concern - I see 'Mobile' and 'Web Development' as top-level items, but I think we really need a good 'Mobile Web Development' section.

It probably depends how strictly we enforce the hierarchy. I lean towards having resilient links and redirects so we can be more loose with the hierarchy. Y'know - like the web. ;)

Hey, well put! I didn't really realize until now how much of a blessing it is to be able to write technical articles. Thanks for the insight!

I think the main reason I prefer shallow hierarchies to deep ones is that I think with deep hierarchies there's much more room for disagreement about where things belong, which can mean time spent discussing and reorganizing the hierarchy (unless there's a benevolent dictator who knows exactly where everything belongs).

If I didn't know any better, I'd think that happened in Romania... My condolences. Hopefully one day you'll give game development another try -- this time as a hobby, so you can do it properly.

I like this idea but was wondering if old URLs will redirect to the new ones? Also, what MDN users have permission to rename/redirect pages?

Using the SDK doesn't actually require being online - merely using the Add-on Builder does. Somebody who downloaded the SDK can build the add-on on his own machine without having to be online.

File system API (at least the way it is implemented in Chrome) doesn't actually give websites access to user's file system - it's rather a virtual file system located in a particular directory of the Chrome profile.
